Spongebob is actually my youngest son, Logan. He is two years old and was diagnosed with classic autism in November of 2010. He also has a very rare chromosome disorder. He refers to himself as Spongebob because he associates the word "name" and "Spongebob" together after being told one time while watching the cartoon that his yellow, spongy friend's name was "Spongebob". He has difficulty with word associations, which is common with an autism diagnosis. He is the brightest ray of sunshine and I can't imagine life without him. He is also quite a challenge and can be somewhat of a handfull. Autism isn't the life we would choose for our children. but when you have a child as resilient as Spongebob it isn't so bad.
